The North East Texas Regional Mobility Authority (NET RMA) was seeing a spike in car accidents on their toll roads, with a majority of wrecks caused by drivers doing dumb things behind the wheel. To encourage drivers to adopt smarter, more mindful driving habits to reduce accidents and improve overall traffic flow, over-the-top characters were created to remind drivers to put down the distraction and “just drive smart, y’all.”
